Dr Jorge Alio carries out his medical activity in Alicante, where he began his professional career after his arrival as Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Alicante. He is the founder of the Instituto Oftalmologico de Alicante, Vissum Corporation, as well as the Jorge Alio Foundation, dedicated to the promotion of the prevention of blindness and humanitarian assistance to the Spanish population, particularly noteworthy being its campaign for early detection of amblyopia which started 20 years ago.
