Prof. Dr. Jorge Alió

A doctor by vocation, his practice has focused primarily on anterior segment eye surgery, which includes cataract surgery, corneal surgery with corneal transplants, and he is an international pioneer in refractive surgery.

He was the first doctor to install the first Visx 20/20 B excimer laser for the correction of myopia in Spain, in 1991.

Dr. Alió has performed more than 55,000 eye surgeries. He has extensive experience in the treatment of cataracts, the cornea, refractive surgery, keratoconus, intraocular lenses, and glaucoma.

Founder of Corporación Vissum; author and co-author of more than 400 scientific papers in international journals; recipient of more than 100 awards and currently recognized on the Forbes list among the 100 best doctors in Spain.

In addition, Dr. Alió actively participates in the fight against blindness through the foundation that bears his name.
