The Jorge Alio Foundation inaugurated on April 24th the exhibition of the 9th Miradas Biannual Competition. This art competition was born in 1998 with the idea of establishing a communication platform between ophthalmology and society through art. Throughout its history, the competition Miradas has attracted hundreds of artists who have seen his work eventually winning, or published as cover of the Journal of Refractive Surgery.
Now comes the turn of the International Contest in which the first prize, «Miradas de Hispanoamérica», will be awarded during the gala dinner of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. This event, which also has a biennial basis, will be held next October in the city of Chicago.
